Programme profile
The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Latvia was established in 1919, along with the founding of the University. At present, specialists in medicine, nursing, pharmacy and related doctoral programs study at the Faculty. All study programmes are accredited.
After 6 years of studies in the programme in Medicine graduates can continue their studies in the medical residency and PhD studies. Foreign students start their studies in Medicine in English, but when they start clinical rotations, they must have a good command of Latvian in order to communicate with patients.
[Fee quoted above is average fee. First year fees are 8500. This annual fee increases to 9500 in Years 2 & 3, to 8000 in Year 3; to 10000 in Year 4; and 10500 in Years 5 & 6 ]
